General Tips & Tricks for Global Search:

In Global Search, using the following: (Alt+G to bring up global search)
- % – Wildcard – To find anything before or after a character set (Ex. ‘cu: John%’)
- _ – Underscore – Same as wildcard but for a single character
- ^ – (Shift 6) – If put in the beginning will open a new window
- :: – Putting an extra colon between the shorthand prefix and the search will open in a new window as well (Ex. in::115%)
- + – Shows inactive records
- Performance
- Avoid the following when you can:
- “Contains”
- Use “Starts with” or “Has keywords” they are much more efficient

- se: – Saved Search
- pa: -Page
- sa: – Sales Order
- pu: – Purchase order
- it: – Item
- em: – Employee
- co: – Contact
- cu: – Customer
- le: – Lead

- pr: – Prospect
- ve: – Vendor
- fi: – File
- op: – Opportunity
- a: – Assembly Build
- bi: – Bill, bill credit and bill payments
- cash:- Cash Sale and Cash Refund
- ch: – Check
- invo:- Invoice
- jo: – Journal
- Quick Nav to NetSuite Pages
Unsure how to navigate to a certain menu option? Simply type page: followed with the keyword search string in the Global Search field.- EXAMPLE
Search page:approve to return a list of NetSuite pages beginning regarding approvals, such as Approve Bills, Approve Invoices, Approve Time, et al.
